Joseph Joseph | Bathroom Accessories
Launched 2017
Joseph Joseph are a renowned design-led company specializing in innovative, ‘brilliantly useful’ household products. Functionality is the driving force for every single one of their designs; each crafted to optimise the efficiency and experience of everyday tasks.
Having established themselves as market leaders in the kitchen category, they hired Geoff Marsh in 2015 to lead the design and development of their all-new bathroom range.
The strategy was to revolutionise the market with innovation; with each new Joseph Joseph product offering a functional point of difference to its leading competitor – something that was revolutionary in a category that had otherwise remained unchanged for decades.
The initial set of eight bathroom accessories launched in 2017, with over 20 more new products and range extensions following in 2018 and 2019. These continue to enjoy strong sales to this day, and have amassed tens of thousands of 5-star reviews across Amazon and other key retail channels.
Geoff was employed by Joseph Joseph from October 2015 to October 2018.

What we did:
-
First-hand research into the bathroom, from which two key pain points were identified: bathrooms are hard to clean, and, bathrooms are hard to organise / keep organised.
-
Development of a ‘shoppable’ design identity which bridges Joseph Joseph’s trademark use of graphical form and colour/contrast and the design language of bathroom fixtures and fittings.
All products share a unified goal: to deliver the best in hygiene and organization in the bathroom.
-
In-depth creative process with a focus on prototyping and real-life testing.
-
2D and 3D design development, bringing together the design identity and innovative features.
-
Iterative development of the products to deliver high-quality finishes and experiences at excellent margins.
-
Oversight of the entire product development critical path, from research and ideation through to tooling and manufacture. Management of the category product P&L.
